We spend 5 nights at Rainbow Point campground near West Yellowstone, MT. It’s a Forest Service facility on Hebgen Lake. We wanted to have reservations and a campground with electric for the 4th of July. We went kayaking one day and tried to take a swim but the water was a little cold for us Floridians. We took a drive to Earthquake Lake. There was an earthquake here in 1959. Hebgen Lake tilted with one shore lowering, sinking homes and the other shore was raised out of the water, adding land. Earthquake Lake was created on the down water side of the dam.
