Rain, rain, go away!

We left early this morning from Baton Rouge going to Houston, TX.  We knew there were bad storms in our path and we got an early start.  We saw on the news tonight that LSU was closed and flooded.  Good thing we left early.  We made it over the Mississippi River bridge and the long bridges that go over the bayou.  Then it started to rain and we exited at the first exit we could —  truck stop/casino.  We were there about an hour waiting out the storm.  The wind blew a plastic trash barrel into Silver Girl — no damage.  The parking lot flooded and another barrel went floating by.  I understand that train cars were blown off a RR bridge in New Orleans.  Glad we stopped!

The rest of the day was good.  We stopped at West Lake RV Resort in Katy, TX.  We were supposed to stop at Stephen F Austin State Park but it’s closed due to the storms and they have no power since Saturday.

  1. At least your in the best travel trailer ever made. Nothing like the sound of rain on that aluminum skin though. Stay safe.
